The US Economic Pyramid
1 percent of the population holds 47 percent of the nation’s wealth- these people are the RICH/OWNERS. The are independently wealthy and on average have over $3 million per household net worth and an average income of $374,000 per year
19 percent of the population holds 44 percent of the nations wealth- these people are the PROFESSIONAL/MANAGERIAL. On average they have over $344,000 household net worth and an average income over 94,000 per year.
80 percent of the population holds 9 percent of the nations wealth- these people are MIDDLE AND WORKING CLASS/UNEMPLOYED/WELFARE/HOMELESS. They have $56,000 household net worth and an average income of $41,000 per year.
The economic pyramid is only a rough instrument for measuring income distribution, as there are many gradations it overlooks. Nevertheless, it offers a snapshot of devastating social and economic inequality. Most notably, among the 80 percent at the base of the pyramid, there is a vast difference in the standard of living between those near the top and those near the bottom. And a substantial number of people (nearly 20 percent of the population) actually live below the bottom of the pyramid with negative financial wealth (that is, more debt than assets).

We won’t see change unless we all come at them with weapons of mental destruction. These are the facts. Don’t sit and complain. Do something. I’ve written tons of letters to the offices in Albany saying “wtf” and never heard back. If they don’t care, we have to MAKE THEM CARE. Write a letter to your Senator. Arrange a meeting with your local Congressman/Congresswoman.
This isn’t a game anymore. This is getting despicable.

- Me: I just want to go on record to say that we do not live in a free country. We live in a country where hatred and discrimination are constantly scoffed at on camera but not worked on behind closed doors. In this country, you're free to speak but not free to be. And you're not particularly free to speak either. Just look at Alabama's "Don't Say Gay" bill, or "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," which was only recently struck down. Look at all the LGBT youth committing suicide, or attempting it in some form. All the Hispanic and African-American youth that are subject to failure because no one gives a damn enough to fund the public school system...anywhere...the not-so-particularly-skinny kids who get picked on all their lives because they don't fit in size 0 pants...the too-skinny kids who get made fun of and called anorexic...no one's trying to abridge freedom of speech, but with it comes discrimination and hatred, for people don't have enough love in their hearts. And don't come at me with that "God brings love" ish. I'm Christian and I know better. Organized religion in America is to blame for half of the crap we've gotten ourselves into. Maybe I'm just goin' off here...but this country will never be free, legitimately. Oh, but how those of us who really can't take it anymore try to make a change.
- I say I'm one of the lucky ones. There are some who weren't so lucky though.

- An idealist: I used to believe that.. but honestly there are too many programs out there that offer change and an improvement in their opportunity. Many people simply are happy to complain but wont work to improve their situation...
- Me: What if they can't?
- An idealist: Everyone can!
- Me: Not the disabled. *gives example* ...you try living off of 500 bucks a month with two adult children who are unable to move out due to the rising cost of ... well...everything. then come and tell me what's not ideal.
- An idealist: i can live off of 500 per month.. but i am great at managing money.. I am also willing to do jobs that a lot of people won't do.
- Me: *thinking* what does that have to do with anything...I didn't say you...I said you and two other people, examine the whole damn thing -_-
- Idealist: anjie and deejay.. i'm only saying that there are toooo many options out there. I used to be a firm believer that people didn't have options and that the system didn't help them out.. but honestly a lot of people are simply lazy and live off the government. If someone has financial issues i can assess their situation and give options.. but they are the ones who have to do the necessary work to achieve these options.
- Me: You just don't get it. *shakes head* *walks away*
- These are the types of people that are in our government agencies, organizations, and offices.
- Do you now see why we're fucked?
